Evaluation & Estimate

The first thing that we do is come to your property to evaluate the site and provide an estimate for the deck installation. At this stage there’s absolutely no commitment, and the estimate is free. 

Deck Design

It all starts with a custom deck design that fits your space and aesthetic. Before breaking ground we want to take the time to fully understand your needs, wants and property. This is your one chance to design a new deck, so make sure it adds value to your home.

During the deck design phase we’ll be:

  • Creating a layout of the yard with a footprint of the deck.
  • Choosing the shape and size of the deck.
  • Factoring in access to the house.
  • Deciding what type of deck boards to use.

Decking Installation

Selecting Deck Boards

One of the biggest decisions when you’re building a deck is what type of deck boards will be used. There are three primary types of boards that can be used for decks.

Wood Deck Boards

Wood decking is the traditional option that looks great and can last for years – if you select the right type of wood and properly maintain it. Some of the most popular wood decking options include cedar, treated pine, redwood and a variety of hardwoods.

The decking installation process is relatively the same no matter what type of wood you use. However, some woods are easier to work with than others, which can impact the time it takes to build the deck.

Composite Decking

PVC Deck Boards

PVC decking is all man-made polymer without any wood material. Homeowners that are worried about moisture may want to consider PVC decking since it’s waterproof, resistant to mold and won’t attract pests. Like composite decking, the material is slightly different to work with compared to wood.
